Introduction

How's it going? My name is Ethan Lara, I'm 20, and I'm starting this blog to lay out some of my ideas for sports ops (that was probably obvious by the name of this blog). One of my two main goals and passions is to bring Major League Baseball to a new level of popularity in North America and the world. The other is to bring soccer (or football for my Euros) into a new level of mainstream in North America and in the process, make the U.S. Mens National Team into an international powerhouse AND bring Major League Soccer into the Big Four (therefore making it the Big Five). I choose those specific leagues and teams mainly because of the sports I was raised with.

I was raised mainly with baseball. I have always loved playing it and it grew on me on a great scale. I used to play it with a pursuit of making it to the MLB, but my dad introduced me to the business side of sports. After a while, I went from loving the playing side to loving the business side just as much. Then, the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers came along, and I began to follow Mexico and the United States' path to the tournament. I studied the way FIFA operates and the history of the MLS and its predecessor, the NASL. I played soccer a lot more and developed a passion for soccer as well, thought not as much as baseball. However, my passion for the sports ops side of the sport equaled that of baseball.

With my intro finished, I'll get started with my content now!
